Some of our work is on our own herd. Most of it is for the farmers and animals around us. Below is what that programme actually looks like, point by point.
We advise livestock farmers and farm managers on the techniques that lift the production of milk and meat, and on practical measures that protect animals from disease and unfavourable weather, including the Punjab summer heat.
We provide advisory services to commercial livestock farmers on housing, nutrition, breeding, feed safety, and the processing of farm manure as an additional revenue stream.
We help commercial livestock farmers identify, evaluate and implement new approaches and strategies for business growth and profitability, and we help them improve animal husbandry practices on the ground.
We plan and implement capacity-building activities during field days, including farmer meetings and demonstrations, to develop good livestock practices and high yield.
We establish and maintain a scheduled on-farm visitation programme with growers, so we can offer them technical guidance that bolsters livestock production over time.
We assist farmers in business development, farm planning, applications and new business ventures connected to dairy and livestock.
We facilitate commercial linkages between farmers, milk buyers, market traders, processors and other value-chain actors, so good production is matched with reliable markets.
We supervise and implement vaccination plans that protect herds against contagious disease. Vaccination cycles run on a regular schedule and are tracked per animal.
We provide treatment for wounded and sick animals, both within the farm and on visits to neighbouring farms, with the goal of returning animals to productive health quickly.
